Sustainability

Sustainability is one of the most important issues for business today. It is something that we at Circ Consulting feel very strongly about - both as a key driver of future business performance and as a matter of personal responsibility. That is why we are increasing our capability in Sustainability, by bringing in a new team member who has outstanding expertise in this space.

Dr Sean O'Malley, Sustainability Consultant

Dr Sean O'Malley is one of Australia's leading experts in Sustainability, with unparalleled understanding of both the principles of Sustainability and the realities of running a business operation. He has successfully helped many organisations to develop and implement Sustainability strategies that make a difference to their Sustainability metrics and their business performance.

Sean was a highly-valued colleague of mine at Mars Corporation, where he spent 15 years in Research & Development, in both Europe and Australia. Since then, Sean has spent 13 years working in Sustainability across many different areas, most recently the circular economy. He spent over 10 years working for Australia’s most trusted environmental organisation, Planet Ark.

Sean has a BSc (Hons) from the University of Dundee, a MSc from the University of Southampton and PhD from the University of Leicester.

Sustainability in your business

It goes without saying that all businesses today need to have a robust Sustainability strategy. Are you confident that you understand all the drivers of Sustainability in your business? Do you have a clear plan on how you can improve Sustainability performance? Do you have a pathway to net zero emissions?

What is important to your company and your stakeholders – in other words, what are the material issues? Is it energy consumption, emissions and your carbon footprint? Or is it your packaging, its safety, sourcing and recyclability? How do you quantify your impacts and get them verified? How do you communicate your activities?
